Hi, I am learning German in Zurich, Switzerland where basically people would prefer to speak either Swiss German or English with you, so practicing German can be hard. Also you ebcome complacent when everyone just speaks English, which is a very bad excuse. Any way like most, I have struggled with my German but this really helps. Keep up the gd work

Well, first of all …
Well, first of all the german tenses are not that “stiff” in usage as in english.
“will be” you can use “werden + infinite verb” like in “Ich werde in 2 Stunden gehen”, BUT you can also you a present tense “Ich gehe in 2 Stunden”

“schon” without the umlaut, so written with an “o” means already. “Ich bin schon fertig” I have already finished.

ok, “schön” with the umlaut “ö” can mean several things. most of the time “schön” means nice, good looking, beautiful something in this sense like “she is beautiful – sie ist schön”. in colloquial german it is often used in the sense of “Ok” like “na schön”. then we have a use in “here you are” “bitte schön”.

omg! that’s like the futur proche in french, except like in german it’s not the closest future. Like “Ich verde arbeiten.” is I will work. But in French it’d be Je vais travailler. but that’s like i’m gonna work. not likt will work. =]
