What are the best sites to learn the German language for free?
Next year is my forgien language class at school. i had to pick which language i wanted to learn. Its a choice between spanish, french, and german. I have had spanish all through elementary school, I hate learning french, so i picked german. Anyway, it doesnt start till next year but i wanted to get a head start. I have a favorite movie which is in german with english subtitles, but id never be able to learn from that.
http://gut.languageskills.co.uk/index.html – it was originally a French site called ‘zut’, but now has a German section called ‘gut’, which you have to pay for weekdays, between the hours of 9 am – 4 pm, but is free the rest of the time!
http://learngerman.elanguageschool.net/ is a free, online German learning site.
http://www.learn-german-help.com/ – this site’s a good one, especially for the grammar parts of German.
Hope this helps – I’ve been learning German for a few years, and am currently trying to get a qualification through distance learning, which luckily my school paid for – but it is a good, logical language to choose!

Its really simply explained in slideshows, followed by games to make sure you understand it.
It also has loads of vocab and speaking on it so that you can get used to listening to germans speak as you will have to in your aural exam.
Good luck xx
