How would you describe the German language?

Everything has its own unique qualities that you personally find in them, so what do you think about the German language? Do you think it’s full of earthy goodness? Is it light and frothy like warm milk, or is it harsh and loud, like a crumbling mountain?
Tell me, how would you describe the german language?

Short, bold and to the point, like a dog’s bark.

Can anybody give me an overview of Romanian litrature originally written in the German language?

That’s Romanian literature originally written in the german language not Romanian literature translated into German.

There is no such thing. Romanian until the 1850s was written in the Cyrillic alphabet not the Latin one but that’s about it. The only German minority was in Transylvania where Romanians didn’t even have many rights until 1918 despite being the major population so a Romanian culture(including literature) was most of an underground thing.

What are the easy and hard parts in German language?

I really like learning new languages and studying them.
I speak Romanian,English,some Slovakian,my native language is Hungarian and Im trying to learn Japanese.I also want to start learning German,because its an important language.
So i wanna know what are the easiest things in learning German and the hardest ones.

First, I’d just like to say well done at learning all of those languages, and your English is very good!

Now, for your question;
I’ve been studying German for four years now. I’m about to go into my fifth year learning it, and I still find it difficult. There are particular bits I find challenging, for example, the gender of words. ‘Der, Die and Das’ & ‘Ein, Eine and Einer’ etc etc (masculine, feminine, neuter). With the genders, there is no way of knowing which gender goes with which word. You have to memorize words with their genders, and that’s a lot! :-D

The second bit I find challenging (extremely challenging, but that’s just my personal opinion) is the four cases in the language; Nominative, Accusative, Dative and Genitive.

An example of accusative (shows why it’s difficult!)

Beißt der Hund den Mann – The dog bites the man.
Beißt den Mann der Hund – The dog bites the man.

Despite its different word order, because it’s ‘DEN’ Mann, it’s ‘accusative’, the object of the sentence. So whichever order you put ‘der Hund’ and ‘den Mann’ in, the man will be the thing being bitten.

Beißt der Mann den Hund. – The man bites the dog.
Because it’s DER Mann, the thing being bitten becomes the dog. (If that makes sense?)

That probably doesn’t sound difficult, but it’s more complex than that. ‘der Hund’ and ‘den Mann’ are both masculine words. For dative and genitive, you have different beginnings besides ‘den’ & ‘der’. And the other genders, ‘Feminine and neuter’ have their own beginnings for Nominative, Accusative, Dative and Genitive.

As you can probably tell, the cases can change the entire meaning of a sentence. So, getting the cases right is important, and takes a lot of practice.

However, German is an absolutely wonderful language to learn. It’s widely used, and there are some words that are similar to English. For example, Auto = Car, Katze = Cat, and more. So despite the difficulty, it’s definitely worth it! And you already know four/five languages, so languages might come easy to you – learning German might be easy for you! it all depends on how committed you are.

If you want to start learning German, there are two sites I recommend;

http://german.about.com/

http://mylanguages.org/learn_german.php

Absoloutly wonderful sites, they give you (literally) everything you need to know!

Another sites I was told about was www.leo.org, though I’ve never been on that myself, I’ve heard it’s brilliant.

Viel Glück! Ich liebe die Deutsche Sprache ;-)

Ofensive words for a girl in german language?

I am about to start to write a short story that involves a german girl, every time she get affected by other girl, she said words like "6itch",
"stupid girl" or the phrases usually the girls launch between them to blame each other, but in german language please. (In order to write the right word exchange the number 6 for the letter b) Thanks! 10 points are waiting for you

The most used transtlation for this word would be " Schlampe".
There are other translations but i guess that one would be most used by an actual german girl.
For other phrases like that i guess the words used would vary from region to region. I can offer you " doofe Kuh" for stupid girl, literally it means dumb cow.
If you tell me other phrases you would wanna use i could help you with those as well.
